Sussex Glazing Services Ltd (SGS) is a thriving business on the South Coast. Since being established in 2013, the company has doubled in size year-on-year. Co-founder Alastair Harrison (pictured here with co-founder Patrick Mcinerney) explains the part Everglade has played in the success of SGS.

Why do you like working with Everglade?

Two reasons – quality and service. Even though the Kömmerling extrusion is the same wherever you buy it from, the quality of manufacture, security hardware and service varies considerably and Everglade’s attention to detail is impeccable. That’s even more apparent in aluminium, where Everglade’s investment in state-of-the-art equipment means the product quality is exceptional every time. Customer support is crucial, too. The occasional snag is inevitable in this business, but where a lot of suppliers just say, “You deal with it,” Everglade always goes out of its way to help. We demand the same service from our suppliers as our customers expect from us, and Everglade easily meets our high standards.

What products do you buy from Everglade?

I dealt with Everglade at my previous employer, so when I set up my own business I was happy to continue this productive relationship. Aluminium windows and bi-fold doors are a big growth area, so we use Ecotherm 50 windows and CF 68 Bifold Doors. We also use Kömmerling uPVC windows and Solidor entrance doors.

Why do you like using Kömmerling from Everglade?

They are one of the best established PVCu systems so we benefit from Kömmerling’s excellent brand awareness. German engineering is always a good selling point, so we can highlight that pedigree when speaking to customers. Of course, it helps that the quality is there. It’s the little things that make a difference, from the grey gaskets to the new slimline sash, which offer real benefits that homeowners can understand.
