Everglade Windows ensures Premier Inn’s ‘Good Night Guarantee’ at new Wembley site with specialist noise reducing glazing

 Everglade Windows is pleased to reveal its involvement in the development of a £26.5m project to create Premier Inn’s newest hotel nestled next to Wembley Stadium in London.

 Specialist curtain walling and aluminium windows – created with high quality acoustic glass offering noise reduction without loss on light transmittance or impact performance – was manufactured and installed by Everglade Windows.

The new development sits within an existing pedestrian boulevard in North London, and is part of the greater Wembley Park Development Master Plan – one of Europe’s biggest regeneration projects which launched in May 2016.

During the award-winning project, which ran in two phases, Everglade Windows worked with specialist design and building contractors, McAleer and Rushe.

To create the right aesthetic, designers at Everglade Windows worked with developers, integrating windows, ground floor curtain walling and specialist fixed rainscreen cladding screens to the hotel’s exterior.

To ensure Premier Inn’s promise of good night’s sleep and to support the hotel chain’s ‘Good Night Guarantee’, Everglade Windows adhered to stringent acoustic requirement within the hotel’s 312 bedrooms.

These ‘live’ sound tests, carried out as part of strict building regulations, were completed before final work and ‘sign off’ was issued to the installation team at Everglade Windows.

Jayesh Hirani, Director at Everglade Windows, says: “This was an exciting project for Everglade Windows to be involved in. Over the last couple of years, we have seen the Wembley Park development spring into life and it is a truly impressive place.

“At the start, there were several things we had to consider when working with designers on the Premier Inn site at Wembley.

“When talks opened, one massive specification was that we manufactured and installed glazing with high acoustic abatement glass, to help dissipate noise across the hotel site – especially in the bedrooms. This was to maximise the comfort of guest.

“From the beginning, we knew we would be able to adhere to these strict noise testing tests and therefore comply with Building Regulations, but it does take careful preparation and planning.

“Failure to pass the noise test can cost many thousands of pounds to correct so getting the design and glazing specification right before construction was of paramount importance to us. Of course, we had no doubt that the hotel would pass the test – and it did.

“Being involved in the construction of this Premier Inn in London, has solidified our commitment to sustainability, community engagement and innovation especially across Wembley Park.

“Projects of this calibre really show how businesses and teams can work together to create something exceptional. Everything was extremely smooth running and this is how a well-managed build should run.”

The Premier Inn at Wembley Park has more than 300 rooms spanning over 13 floors, and was completed over a 22 month period. It is now open to guests visiting locations including London’s Wembley Stadium, the SSE Arena Wembley, and the London Designer Outlet.
